Ghana is the closest landmark to the center of the earth sitting right on the Greenwich meridian; the longitude 0 degree and located in West Africa. It is bordered on the north by Burkina Faso, on the west by Cote d Ivoire on the by Togo and on the east and the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Guinea on the south.

Formerly known as the Gold Coast, Ghana became independent from Britain in 1957 and was the first black African colony to achieve independence.  Ghana’s history, culture and folklore and natural attractions make it an interesting holiday destination. The country has been aptly described as the bird watchers paradise an eco-tourism haven, a cultural delight, and an adventurers dream.
Ghana offers many amenities; world-class hotels and restaurants, fortes and castles, beaches and lakes, wildlife parks and mountain trails. The legendary Ghanaian hospitality and excellent personal security conditions contribute to the good quality of life enjoyed by working and living in Ghana.

Ghanaian economy is built on mining and agriculture with Cocoa as the leading foreign exchange earner of the country. There are other natural reserves such as timber, and marine fishing in the Atlantic Ocean.

Ghana’s population is now over 20 million and is the second most populous country in West Africa after Nigeria.
